~Let’s talk about acceptation~

Hey guys! Its s Sinead Diarcy

And you are listening to Girls Let’s Talk

So today we are gonna be talking about acceptance.

Learning to accepts others but most importantly accepting ourselves.

I have a very very special guest with me here today Rysn Breake

and actor hair stylist and clothes childhood friend of mine

Rayan and I grew up together and we were best friends from really young age

but I never knew what they were going through until now.

Just like most people don’t know what you are going through right now

or what I’m going through

we all love to hold things in

but today were gonna break that silence and talk about it.

So, Rayan let’s talk about your journey with acceptance.

Yes, it has been a journey for sure.

With a few kinds of different levels

really I mean by journey with acceptance really began an elementary school when we met

We were super lucky to go to elementary school in Los Angeles and extremely diverse City.

and we had a super divers student body

and I think being surrounded by and seeing myself as equals with each and very individual really gave me a super strong foundation in terms of interacting with each

and very single individual with love and respect and empathy

and I’m so grateful for that because that allowed to me examine myself a lot more lovingly and a lot of more care.

When I was thirteen, I came out as bisexual.

and I still kind of identify as that but its changed.

because when I was twenty, I realized I didn’t identify it now.

and that I am non-binary more specifically gender fluid

so, any given day I’m either male or female.

but my presentation shift and Society precedes me in a few different ways.

and I think that’s really shape my journey with acceptance and learning how to accept myself.

and learning how accept others as well with empathy and love and kindness.

I love that how did it feel

when you were discovering who you were?

I really love the question.

Because I think in discovering who I am.

I learned how to fell.

I think each and very individual you me you at home.

We have all been conditioned to act in certain ways in order to be perceived by society as normal.

or to fit in or to hit certain standards be it in beauty or wealth for life.

And you know from a very young age it become very clear to me that my innate behavior was not acceptable for the model that I needed to fill because of my birth.

And I quickly learned what it looked like to live inside the box.

And to create the identity inside the box

and we all do I don’t believe that the experience is exclusive to people of certain expressions.

I think each and every individual has to create this persona that is digestible by society

and we give up our own personal power we give up all of our individual qualities that make us special and that make us unique.

in order to conform in order to be combatable.

And I think I succeeded at living in the box for a really long time

but at the cost of true emotion and true feeling
I was effectively lying and so I wasn’t living life

and the more and more that I tapped into the inner knowing the inner voice that we all have.

I think I really loved your podcast last week.

because you know there was a monument in which you said you close your eyes and think of what you want

we all if you close your eyes think of what you want int each and every individual immediately has a response

and for me along for a long time that was to explore theses feeling in me that were terrifying because of society at large.

In the more and more that I tap into my true feelings,

and you know stop giving so much stock to my inner critic the more and more

I was able to stand in my power and the more and more I realized that what I really was fearful of

it wasn’t other people it was of myself because regardless you know the things that people say about you are never about you

So, its a reflection of their inner world

and if someone ever you know sometimes i have beautiful interactions with people

and they save the most lovely things to me and other terms not so much

but I’ve learned through experience that in the times where people send hate or vitriol at me

its never about me its always a reflection of what they’re saying to themselves

And the people who have the most hatred and spread the most hatred hate themselves the most

and I think I’ve really tried to lean to meet each end every individual with empathy

cuz like you said the first line of the podcast you dont know what someone eles is going through

and the only way to help them is to be pretty open and honest about how you feel

and that’s been really hard for me in certain aspects

but at the same time it’s so much better than the alternative to hate the things about myself that make me unique and special.

Thank you so much for sharing that

and it’s soo funny how the thing that make us so much different always scare us

but really, it’s others that are afraid of us because people are afraid of what they don’t know

but what you don’t know is the things that make you different make you powerful.

So if you find yourself not wanting to accept someone for who they are

ask yourself why are you afraid of their power when you don’t need to be

you have your own within you

I always used to be so self-conscious about my hair the female beauty standard as we all know is to have long silky straight hair and I have this big frizzy curly hair

I never thought of my self as truly beautiful just as I am

Now its the thing that not only makes me stand out as an actor in the entertainment industry

but I’m told every day how beautiful it is

And I’ve gotten so many opportunities because of it.

Whatever it is that makes you different.

Yes, that the sooner you accept that the sooner

you will become the best version of yourself

because you’ll be able to use the uniqueness the beauty the power to achieve the life that you dreamed of

Well, that’s all for today guys thank you Ryan so much for coming over

But ladies before you go remember.

You are enough.

See you next time.
